RECOMMENDED SPECIFICATIONS
- OS: Windows 10/11 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i7-12700 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 / AMD Radeon RX 6800

- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband internet for online features
With recommended specs, you can expect 4K 60 FPS on High settings or
1440p 144+ FPS on Medium settings. Ultra settings at 4K may require
an RTX 4080 or RX 7900 XT for a stable 60 FPS.
GRAPHICS SETTINGS BREAKDOWN
All graphics settings can be found in Settings > Video > Advanced.
Here is a breakdown of each option and its performance impact:
-
Resolution: Render resolution of the game. Higher values look sharper
but require more GPU power. Use your monitor's native resolution for best clarity.
-
Anti-Aliasing: Options include Off, FXAA, TAA, and MSAA (2x/4x/8x).
TAA offers a good balance of quality and performance. MSAA 8x provides the sharpest
image but has a significant performance cost.
-
Shadows: Low, Medium, High, Ultra. Controls shadow map resolution and
draw distance. Medium is recommended for GPUs near the minimum spec.
-
Effects: Low, Medium, High, Ultra. Governs particle effects, explosions,
and weapon trails. High is recommended for the full retro-neon visual experience.
-
View Distance: Controls how far asteroids, space debris, and enemy
ships render. Higher values reveal enemies sooner but increase draw calls.
-
V-Sync: On/Off. Prevents screen tearing by syncing frames to your
monitor refresh rate. May add input lag; consider using adaptive sync (G-Sync/FreeSync)
instead.
-
Frame Limit: Unlimited, 30, 60, 120, 144, 240. Set to your monitor's
refresh rate or slightly below for smoother frame pacing.

KNOWN ISSUES
-
FIXED v1.2.2
Shader compilation stutters on first launch —
The game previously experienced stuttering during the first 5-10 minutes as shaders
compiled. As of v1.2.2, shaders are pre-compiled during installation. If you still
experience stutters, delete the shader cache folder at
%LOCALAPPDATA%\GDCBlaster2000\ShaderCache and relaunch.
-
WORKAROUND
Rare DX12 crash on AMD Radeon 7000 series —
Some AMD Radeon RX 7000 series GPU owners experience occasional crashes when running
in DirectX 12 mode. As a workaround, switch to DX11 mode in Settings > Video >
Rendering API. The team is working with AMD to resolve this in an upcoming driver
update.
-
FIXED v1.2.0
Ultrawide (21:9) HUD misalignment —
The heads-up display elements were offset on ultrawide monitors. Fixed in v1.2.0 with
proper aspect ratio scaling.
-
FIXED v1.1.0
Mouse cursor visible during gameplay —
The system cursor sometimes remained visible during gameplay on multi-monitor setups.
Resolved in v1.1.0.
PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION TIPS
-
Update your GPU drivers — Always use the latest drivers from
NVIDIA or AMD. Both manufacturers release game-ready drivers for GDC Blaster 2000.
-
Use an SSD — Load times are 3-5x faster on an SSD compared to
a traditional HDD. NVMe drives provide the best experience.
-
Close background applications — Browsers, streaming software,
and overlay apps can consume GPU and CPU resources. Close unnecessary programs before
playing.
-
Set Windows power plan to High Performance — This ensures your
CPU runs at full clock speed during gameplay.
-
Disable fullscreen optimizations — Right-click the game
executable > Properties > Compatibility > check "Disable fullscreen
optimizations" for slightly better frame pacing.
-
Use exclusive fullscreen — Borderless windowed mode adds a small
amount of latency. Use exclusive fullscreen for the lowest input lag.
TROUBLESHOOTING
GAME WON'T LAUNCH
- Verify game files through your launcher (Steam: right-click > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity)
- Ensure your GPU drivers are up to date
- Install the latest Visual C++ Redistributables and DirectX Runtime
- Temporarily disable antivirus software, which may quarantine game files
- Run the game as Administrator
HOW TO VERIFY GAME FILES
Steam:
- Open your Steam Library
- Right-click GDC Blaster 2000 > Properties
- Go to Local Files tab
- Click "Verify integrity of game files"
- Wait for the process to complete and relaunch
Microsoft Store / Xbox App:
- Open the Xbox app
- Find GDC Blaster 2000 in your library
- Click the three-dot menu > Manage
- Select "Repair" or "Reset" if repair does not resolve the issue
LOW FPS OR STUTTERING
- Lower shadow quality and anti-aliasing first — these have the biggest performance impact
- Reduce resolution or use dynamic resolution scaling (Settings > Video > Dynamic Resolution)
- Ensure the game is running on your dedicated GPU, not integrated graphics
- Check Task Manager for any process using excessive CPU or RAM
CRASH LOG LOCATION
PC crash logs are saved to %LOCALAPPDATA%\GDCBlaster2000\Logs\. When
reporting a crash on the forums, attach the most recent
crash_*.log file along with your system specs.
